I've been using this poncho after every beach trip since I got it, and the hood actually stays put even when the wind picks up. It's become my favorite thing to throw on over a wet swimsuit, and the cozy lining makes it perfect for those cooler evenings by the shore.
The fabric is thick enough to block the sea breeze but still breathable, so I didn't overheat during a sunny afternoon. The hood actually stays put when the wind picks up, which is rare for ponchos I've tried.
Took this to the beach on a windy morning and the mid-to-heavy fabric actually blocked the breeze completely, not just dampened it. Dried off quick after a swim and stayed cozy for the walk back to the car—exactly what I wanted.
