The fleece lining inside the hood is what sold me—it keeps the wind off my ears even on chilly mornings after a swim. Dries fast, too, so I can toss it on right after leaving the water without that clammy cold feeling.
The way this hood wraps around my head actually stays put when the wind picks up, which is rare for a beach poncho I've found. I've used it for three trips already and it's kept me cozy during the colder evenings while still being light enough for summer.
