The hood is the real winner here—it actually stays put when my daughter runs off after a swim, and the UPF 50+ gives me one less thing to worry about on sunny beach days. It dries her off quickly and she loves how light it feels.
My kids can be violently splashing in the pool and then shivering two seconds later, but this poncho dries them off fast enough that the whining stops. The UPF 50+ fabric is a nice bonus for the walk back to the car, and it’s lightweight enough they don’t complain about wearing it.
The hood is actually roomy enough that my kid can wear it over a wet swimsuit without pulling, and the UPF 50+ means I don't worry as much about their shoulders between swims. Dries them off in a few shakes, which is exactly what I needed.
